Screen Shot 2014-09-20 at 9.19.26 pmJennifer has been teaching yoga for 15 years and practicing for 17. She teaches private clients in the Auckland inner city suburbs, in the comfort of their homes. A fun and enthusiastic teacher of hatha yoga, she has been registered since 2002 with Yoga Alliance and holds an E-RYT500 and is a yoga therapist certified through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Jen loves to share her knowledge of yoga and inspire people in their practice. She encourages a relaxed class, and to also have you work to your best ability and have some fun. Jen loves the anatomical approach to yoga – it’s rehabilitation and healing capacity for students, and works with many clients who are not able to attend classes due to health or injury issues.

She began her yoga journey in 1999 while living in Sydney, then moved to Houston in 2000 and practiced daily with her two dearest teachers Ann Hyde and Robert Boustany.

Ann showed me the commitment, patience and fun in my asana practice, while Robert gave me the passion for precision of alignment, and the therapeutic side of yoga which led to me to teaching clients who require yoga therapy.  I attend workshops and events to gain knowledge, inspire creativity, extend my clients and students, and give insight into my own practice. I have also studied anatomy and physiology, and functional movement and continue to learn about body movement and mechanics with each new student.

During the time spent overseas, Jennifer attended many teacher trainings and workshops with great yoga teachers, including Shiva Rea, Pattabhi Jois, Rodney Yee, David Swenson, Manju Jois, Kathryn Budig, Kino MacGregor and many others. She began teaching in 2001 and completed her 1st and 2nd series teacher training with David Swenson in the USA and has a strong background in Ashtanga Vinyasa.

After teaching in Houston and Melbourne for 4 years, she returned to NZ in 2007 with her husband and two children and continues to teach clients in their homes while continuing her own education.

As all styles of yoga have elements she wanted to share; her teaching style is a mix of lineages and influences from her time on the mat.

Jen teaches Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Pre and Post Natal, Yin and Yoga Therapy.

Happy body, happy mind.
